I’m doing training next week for my first part time job… just wondering if trainees get a uniform of if they have to wait untill they have fixed shifts?

I’m pretty sure you can do some dental hygienist, plumbing, electrician, and auto repair courses in less than a year, and most of those pay pretty well.

It depends on what occupation you want training in. Do some research first by visiting with those who you would like to do their type of work. I became an certified optician this way; many years ago.
I would start by looking at your local area vocational tech school. This could even be a short course of about 6 weeks at your local junior college. If you’re wanting a paid internship; then you may have to interview with the program’s director.
Job corps (US government) is a good place to start if you’re under 24 and want to learn, earn, and live near the place you will be schooled at.

I dont have any money I’m unemployed and got my GED and never went back to school, all thanks to wonderful help of parents growing up? I have no skills…does anyone know if theres any job training program for adults without money?

Check your state’s website, they may have a program for your situation. There’s always AmeriCorps, which is kind of like Peace Corps, but in America. Also, try looking at a local community college…there may be a program available there, too. Search for jobs and internships online at sites like HotJobs and Craigslist in the meantime.
That being said, stop blaming your parents. You didn’t have a choice in what you were brought into, but you can always choose how to react to it. You’re an adult; act like it.

I have Grand Theft (a felony) and several drug and assault charges (misdemeanors). Does anybody know if the Job Corps Program will restrict my admittance to their program? I already meet all other criteria, and I would like to know the answer to this question before contacting a recruiter. Please keep your comments regarding my criminal history to yourselves. I wanted to join the reserves or serve 4 years. Would either get me job training skills for a career? I’m leaning toward serving as a reservist but if I will get better training from the 4 years then I would want to do that. I am female, so will I get the same skills and experience as males? Will these skills help me to find a career?
I ask because I have never had a job and I want to know if this will get me experience.
I apply for jobs but employers tell me I don’t have experience. I apply for jobs at fast food places or cart attendant, low paying jobs such as those and the employers tell me I need experience for that?? I don’t understand why they say that.

Only if you choose an MOS that will translate well to the outside. For me it was repairing avionics electronics. That training and experience kept me very well employed in electronics for decades after I got out.

All computer jobs have on the job training. You just have to prove yourself competent enough that the employer will feel confident that you will understand the training.

A certificate* of completion of the Los Angeles County Job Services’ Job Readiness Training Program.
I do not receive or am eligible for any welfare, but I am low income. I was wondering as to where I might be able to get that certificate. I am 31 years old, not a youth

You should call or visit a local office of the Los Angeles/California EDD services and ask them where is the best place to go to get a certificate.

I was watching this segment on ABC News yesterday about how the US nursing industry has all these job openings, and solid job security, at a time of a deeping recession in the national economy.
As I understand it, one has to get an Associate’s degree in Nursing, which takes about two years to complete. So I was thinking to myself, is nursing a field where people could rapidly be given on-the-job training, as opposed to long and costly classroom education?
I figured if this could be the case, then maybe underemployed and unemployed workers could fill the nursing field’s shortages.
